Since We Are Women

As Jessie Spano in Saved By The Bell said many times, “You are a sexist PIG.” This has to relate to what I’m talking about because Macy’s just hired 5 woman to play the role of Santa Claus. The shoppers were furious. They even said they would never shop at Macy’s again. Most people would say, “that’s preposterous. A women could never play Santa Claus.” But you are amiss! People don’t know that they are what we call sexist. Saying that a woman can’t do something, or can’t be something is discrimination. So I believe that if a women can win her way to vote, than a woman can be Santa Claus.
One reason I think that women can be Santa Claus is because of one girl named Erica Goepel. She is

As human beings we don’t have the luxury of being able to choose between becoming a male or a female, and regardless of what technology has to offer in the next generations to come it should stay that way. The idea of a man or women ever being more superior to another is an absolute disgrace to our society. In order for our country to function the way it does, men and women on a daily basis must work side by side under no restrictions. In all honesty, being a male I grew up not having to deal with all the sexism that goes on in a girls every day activities. I don’t blame the strong willed women for rebelling and going against the common stereotypes that are tagged against them, I would do the same.…

Election Day 1920, millions of American women used their right to vote for the very first time. For almost 100 years many women fought to win that right. They have made speeches, signed petitions, and argued over and over again that women, like men, deserve all the rights and responsibilities that men have. For example Sojourner Truth’s Speech to the Ohio Women’s Conference. Sojourner Truth rose and delivered her short powerful speech citing beliefs of Christianity and using her strong, impressive presence to disprove the minister’s arguments.…

What do you think? Please comment, like or hate and share! WOMEN PRESIDENT OF THE USA, UNCONSTITUTIONAL? I want to preface by saying that I am not against the idea of a women being President of the US, but I am very much against Hillary Clinton, for more reasons than I can count. With that said, it seems to me that it is currently unconstitutional for a female to hold the Office of the Presidency of the United States of America.…

Hello everyone, I am Victoria Woodhull. Being the first woman to run for president, I feel as though I have a disadvantage to the men that are running. That is why if I am elected, my number one priority would be getting the equality that women deserve. After all, what do men do that’s so much better than what women can? Is it because they don’t get their “monthly”?…

Hammurabi’s Code includes laws that tell the legal rights women had during the Mesopotamia time. There were many other places that also had strict laws or rights for women including Egypt, where even though women had the royal lineage they never ruled. In Greece, women weren’t in charge of anything in their lives. Rome, where being alive and female was considered to be a luxury, afforded to very few. As well as in China, where the women were excluded from any education.…

Napoleon, Aristotle, and Confucius all viewed women as useless creatures. Aristotle, for instance, once said “A proper wife should be as obedient as a slave.” The countless amount of sexist opinions that come out of powerful men have greatly affected the presence of females in political affairs and have gated their entrance into equality. Hillary Clinton challenges this idea in her speech, “Women’s Rights are Human Rights.” She believes women, of all backgrounds, should be able to exercise their basic human and legal rights and participate in political situations.…

In many countries, people treat women as if they are lesser than the men around them because of the stereotypes that are associated with each gender. The stereotype that women are supposed to be fragile, emotional and graceful makes them seem as if they are unable to perform certain tasks. The misconception gives men the idea that females are to stick with jobs that require minimum physical strength. Compared to the real world, the movie She’s…

In the document “Virginian Luxuries”, there is a clear presence of racism, slavery and gender roles. Depicted on the right side, a Caucasian man, presumably a slave-holder, is shown kissing a Negro woman. This could be perceived as a Negro woman be used temporarily for this slave-holder’s pleasure. On the opposite side of this document, a Negro woman is depicted being whipped by a different Caucasian slave-holder. Once more, a woman is just an object used for slavery to this man’s eyes.…

Just like racism and homophobia, sexism will never completely disappear. Though sexism still lingers, as a society, Canada has never been more gender equal than it is now in present day. Unfortunately, there are still cases where specific genders are targeted for discrimination. The current percentage of women in the House of Commons is approximately 26% (Women in Politics). Clearly there is an under representation of the female population within the House, but should appointment of members be based on merit or on gender quota?…

Historically, women have had a disadvantage compared to their male peers. Until the 1920s, women did not wear pants, nor could they vote. Society has come far since then, women can now practically do anything a man can (vote, own land, join the army, make decisions), however, they are still believed to be inferior. To state this in similar terms, look at sports. Women don’t play football, and those sport that have female leagues, do not get close to the amount of attention as similar male sports do (Basketball, Softball).…

This is especially true for women are beginning to be a true power in this world, with women becoming CEO’S of companies, and running for major offices. People need to realize that times are changing in the twenty-first century for women and today feminism is required to be successful in job fields like politics where women are taking a stand and becoming more assertive, in the home where single mothers who work are still producing children who help society, and in the workplace, where women still need to make a stand to make the same pay and have gender equality.…
