The Role Of Art In Art's Gust Of Hope

What does Art mean to people? Many people see art as something valuable, how to express feelings, thoughts, emotions, escape their reality of life or it can represent a story however for Fabian art resemble his family, art brings his inner voice, his salvation, away to heal wounds, or away to remember his past . In “Art’s Gust of Hope” Fabian chose the wrong path of life and made mistakes in life but art turned his life around. Fabian had so many family problems; he became an addict, and tried to kill himself. However art became an important tool for Fabian because it saved his life and made him to live a better life. Also Fabian became a very talented artist. Fabian obstacle when he was growing up he faced family problems at home. He came from low class family and a non-stable home were there was drama going on because his parents were indeed of money. Dennis R. Sanchez points out how Fabian home was not stable in the following way “There were disturbances in home life now. He argued with his parent. They argued with each other” (52). He starts to appreciate his life more and became a very talented artist. Fabian family did not have a hope that he was not going to change but eventually art gave Fabian and his family hope. Dennis asserts how art had an impact on Fabian life “Has been the main foundation of what has kept me sane” (52). What Dennis is trying to say is that through art Fabian finds himself and leaves his past behind and moved on with his life. Also art helped Fabian to control and forget his dark past by not using drugs to make him feel better. Yes Fabian was a gang member and was an addict but look at him know he has become a good artist. His paintings consist of his story of life but Fabian wants to send a message through his paintings to people that it resembles hope and resembles
