Technology has been rapidly developing in the past decades. Compared to half a decade ago, technology has grown at a faster rate. Humans use technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to make tasks easier and aid humans; but, can artificial intelligence do more than aid humans? Can humans use artificial intelligence for something less mechanical and more organic, such as visual arts? Yes, at the rate technology is advancing, artificial intelligence will be able to create fine arts as skillfully as humans. In the future, artificial intelligence will be able to understand human thought and emotion to create visual art.

AI is divided into three calibers: artificial narrow intelligence (ANI), artificial general intelligence (AGI), and artificial superintelligence (ASI) (Andros). ANI is called the weak AI with the ability to only perform one task. If an ANI was programed to identify a specific breed of dog, cat, or bird, the ANI will accurately identify the specific animal. When an ANI is programed with its one task, the AI cannot learn or do anything else, but, the task it is programmed to do is done well (Andros). ANI may be able to create art, but ANI would be limited to the one specific thing it was programed to create.
Artificial general intelligence (AGI) is called the strong AI with the ability to “perform any intellectual task a human being can” (Andros). An AGI could be programed to identify specific animals, but the AI is not limited to only identifying animals. The AI could learn more animals to identify at any time, but it could also learn how to identify specific plants or how to draw the perfect circle. AGI does not have as many limitations as ANI, but AGI can learn new things in its development. The limitation AGI does have is a result of its human-level intelligence; AGI can only think or learn as much as a human
