Essentially, the emperor of ancient Rome have dominant position in the society and the emperor have superior rights that the civilians. Moreover, the emperor have the right to control the people’s life. He can decided whether he should take away or maintain one’s life. However, the political system of today’s China are similar to ancient Rome in some aspects. Although the leader of today’s China didn’t have the right to decide one’s life directly anymore, the inequality phenomenon are still exist and the gap between the civilians and the leader are vast. Nowadays, the political system of China combined the ideologies from communism and capitalism and this unique system help China obtain endless wealth in economical aspect. However, Chinese political system maintain the characteristic of communism and only one party are dominant in the country. Therefore, the leader of the country have the superiority power and his decision will represent the entire country. Because no one have such tremendous power compare to the leader, it become impossible for the civilians to obey the decision made by the leader. The only thing they can do was to follow the leader’s path. But sometimes wrong decision made by the leader could be deadly. The cultural revolution led by Chairman Mao during 1966 to 1976 was one of the good example to demonstrate my point.
