Article Summary: My Experience With Tattoos

The article's primary focus is the positives and negatives to getting a tattoo. Some jobs are unattainable if someone has a tattoo, whereas other jobs like a prison guard there is more leeway. My experience with tattoos isn't much, I have worked with a couple people who have tattoos, and everyone that has seen them wouldn't say anything about them. I always say to someone with tattoo(s) that’s awesome or something like that. Since I don’t have any tattoos, I feel I can't say much to a person’s experience of having them . Everyone that has a tattoo has them for a reason, some may have them to show their love for a loved one that has died, others may have them to just have, and others may have them to show their specific gang affiliation. In the article “Tattoos are still taboo for employers”, the author talks about a study that was done, with people in outstanding professions (bosses), such as a bankers, hotels, prisons. The HR manager at a prison said that tattoos: “can be something to talk about” and “an in” that you need to make a connection with the prisoners (Williams, p.4). I think the one that really stuck for me was, the one guy who got a tattoo for his army friends, and even one special one for his fallen friend.
