In the article What went went wrong with Title IX, author Bagenstos talked about an important problem occurring in almost every college and university. Bagenstos main focus was how the Obama administration 's Department of Education has taken a huge and strong step on Title IX of the education amendments against violence and sexual harassment on college campuses. The author even mentioned how some colleges took this amendment in mind and tried to adopt some new policies that will change and decrease some violence and sexual assault on campus. In this article a young girl that went by the name Alice was a victim a seuxal assualt on campus. After 3 weeks of dating a guy he raped her in her dorm and never said anything or told anyone regarding what has happened to her. After a while the same guy sent her a message on Facebook, that 's when Alice became extremely worried and talked about her problem to the university 's Department of Public Safety (DPS). Sexual assault on campus has been happening for years and all over the world. Dorothy Edwards a psychologist at the University of Kentucky, created a program called Green Dot, it 's mainly to break the code of silence. This article provide the reader a short background regarding colleges and universities and how they managed to give out surveys every 3 years to get some feedback on how they feel on campus, if they have any financial problems, abuse or sexual assault problems. This article also mentions how it 's important to keep track of these surveys and give them out every year and save the results. One main point the author mentioned in the article was how a canadian universities distributed survives for almost 49 colleges to find out how students feel on campus.
In my opinion I found the article to be more about how students feel regarding financial problems the author didn 't really talk about violence and sexual assault that 's been occurring on college campus. It 's was interesting to read and find out the results of the survey and how students feel. I would not recommend this source to be used for a campus safety research paper and especially if the subject is violence and sexual assault because it doesn 't talk about these topics a
