We say “all men are created equal”, but this is only really true if you are born a Caucasian male, regardless of your socioeconomic status, and with the exclusion of females in general. We as people love to play God, and we love to feel more important than others. Maybe we are all egoists deep down, perhaps that is why we allocate people 's’ God given rights, as if they are ours to give and take as we please. However I know based on the existence of several documents that a great number of people believe that we should all have the same rights, and that the biases that exist should be wiped out. So why is it that with so many people advocating for rights to be given, we still see no change? Why do people still get treated as if they are lesser? What happened to us that made us so removed and dictatorial? I wish I knew the answer to those questions, but I don’t, and I don’t know that I ever will. The closest I can get is to say that, though we may profess to be utilitarians, ascetics, and altruists, we are all when it comes down to it, out for our own best interests.
