I chose to analyze the article written by Mathew J. Bartkowiak titled “Behind the Behind the Scenes of Disney World: Meeting the need for Insider Knowledge”. This article describes how for a price, Disney World offers many different types of behind the scenes tours. The tours cost $30.00 plus general admission for the Marceline to the Magic Kingdom tour, $74.00 plus general admission for the Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom tour and $224.00 for the Backstage Magic Tour but general admission is include in the tour fee. (Bartkowiak, 2012, p. 947-949). The Marceline to the Magic Kingdom is a guided walking tour where guest learn about the life of Walt Disney. The Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom tour is a tour that provides the guest access to backstage areas of the park as well as the most fascinating information on the history of the park. (Bartkowiak, 2012, p. 947). Finally, the Backstage Magic Tour is the tour where guests are most exposed to insider knowledge about Disney World.

Disney World has recognized that there are fans that will pay to learn about the inner secrets of Disney World as well as those that are not fans that will also pay money in hopes to find out information about the evils of Disney World. The article makes Disney World out to only care about money, as if a company earning money is a bad thing. I agree that Disney World has create a program that is designed to make revenue but I disagree it is a bad thing. Companies need to make money to stay in business.
