Article Against Bringing Your Dogs To Work

Decent Essays
Although, I myself am a dog lover I have to agree with the article against bringing your dogs to work. I disagree with having dogs in work place simply because it seems like more of a hasssel then just going to work. While they rest in the comfort of your home. One statement that struck me most from the opposing article states,"I never work late- even when i could- because i want to go home and care for her". This is a sacrifice you make the minute you decide to become a pet a owner. Although as a pet owner you cringe every morning you say goodbye and leave for work you know its a must to be able to provide for yourself and them. The article i agree with notes,"Not everyone likes dogs or is comfortable around them", and as a dog lover

The second agreement is having a restricted number of days that employees are allowed to bring their dogs to work. Dogs will be allowed three days out of the week, no exceptions. By limiting the number of days will allow employees who are reluctant to the “Dogs In The Workplace Agreement” to have the flexibility to find comfortability and ease into the pro-pet policy. It will also allow employees to slowly interact with the dogs, get to know one another, and not be constantly distracted by them. The goal of this agreement is to create a win/win situation because people who do not want dogs in the workplace don’t have to be distracted by them everyday of the week, and people who want dogs in the workforce will give them something to look forward…

As for the other side of the controversy, dogs do have other reasons for the need to stay on duty and receive a new handler. During the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan the military had over two thousand canines in use. Over twenty thousand dollars was spent on each of them in training and equipment. The dogs wore highly advanced technology and for a very good reason too. Without the canines our wars would never be fought the same way.…

Should we be allowed to bring our dogs to work? This seems like a bizzare question to me. On the one hand people think that encouraging such action would improve the work environment and raise company morale. However, on the other hand, and the side I personally agree with, there are people who believe that the dogs would be a destraction, and even a hazzard to fellow coworkers, and would be better left at home.…
