I believe that Mrs. Volupides is guilty of killing her husband, Arthur Volupides. (subjective)(claim)
Notice how the glass is in his hand. Normally when you fall you try to grab onto something instead of keeping hold of the glass. He would have had to drop the glass to save himself. Since the glass is not shattered and still in his hand, he must not have tried to …show more content…
Volupides also ran to her friends for help. She did not call us first. Normally, if you were to find a person dead, you would call the cops. Not wait for your friends to arrive and ask them for help.
(evidence and reasoning #3)
Earlier that day, the couple had gotten into an argument, which the neighbors reported. After the argument Mrs. Volupides sped away in her Mustang convertible. She drove to the Country Club for a party celebrating the opening of the new golf course.
During the party, she met up with some friends. She invited them to come over after the party to have one more drink. She left the Club around one in the morning and told the friends to come a couple minutes after her so she could greet them at her house. The guests arrived 10 minutes after Queenie.
The guests arrived with Queenie running out of the house yelling at them. She told her guests “ Something terrible has happened! Arthur slipped and fell on the stairs. He was coming down for another drink- he still has the glass in his hand! I think he is dead! Oh my God, what do I do?”
Our autopsy had concluded that Arthur had died from a wound to the head, and that he had been drunk. So I conclude that Mrs. Volupides is guilty of killing her husband.
