Many people wrongly assume that because they have arthritis, they should not or limit how much they exercise. In reality, you should work out a couple of days a week at least if you have arthritis. Exercise can help you strength your joints and the muscles around them. You need the muscles around your joints that are affected by your arthritis to be strong; this will make it easier for you to complete day to day activities without feeling pain.

You can sign up and take a low-impact aerobic exercise class. You can take a Thai-chi or yoga class that is designed specifically for individuals with arthritis. Or you can walk, swim or ride a bike. You can even do some light weight training to keep your muscles strong.
If you are not currently physically active, try starting out working out for ten minutes at a time, and try to work your way up to being able to work out for 30 minutes at least three times a week. If you are already currently physically active, try to maintain your currently level of physically activity.
Another way to exercise your joints and muscles is by doing range of motion exercises designed specifically for arthritis. Try to work range of motion exercises into your normal daily routine; they should only take a few minutes to complete, and should be things you can do just about
