I am replying to Maria Vargas post on scenario number four about arthritis. Ms. Vargas, provided a very detailed and descriptive scenario where she had to dump out coins from a zip wallet onto the floor and pick them back up while wearing ace bandages wrapped around her knees and gardening gloves on her hands. Initially, while reading her post I wanted to laugh because I could imagine trying to do this myself, and how awkward and clumsy this must have felt. But, regrettably I realize this subject isn't something to laugh about. Reading her post gave me more insight on what it must feel like to suffer from arthritis, and that we as nurses need to have patience and understanding while treating our patients.
