Hypertension is a steadily rapid disease. About one in every three adults in the United States have been diagnosed with the rapidly increasing disease. Hypertension is a very dangerous condition of having excessively high blood pressure. Another name for hypertension is high blood pressure (HBP). High blood pressure is the force of the blood against the artery wall. When blood pressure is too high, it puts extra strain on the arteries and heart. This in which may eventually cause severe heart disease and stroke. Normal blood pressure is less than 120/80 and treatment is usually best for any individual with a blood pressure over 140/90.
