The Andy Warhol exhibit at the Blanton Museum contains many incredible pieces of art by one of the most influential artist in the modern age. The two pieces of art that grabbed my attention were Mao and Apple due to extreme differences in the message they conveyed.
First on the painting of Mao created in 1973, demonstrated one of the most feared Communist leaders of China smiling with a background of multiple other portraits mimicking his power. Warhol’s common theme was to create art based on cultural influence and Mao was not different.
