Art And Softball Research Paper

Art and softball as always been huge aspects in my life. Art has always been a way to express myself in a way many do not normally see. Although I normally draw, I do know how to paint and build clay into creative forms most believe are impossible, or at the very least, hard to create. In one of my drawing classes, we were to create a colored portrait of an orphan in another country. I was so happy to be a part of that experience and later the next year got to see a picture of the little boy receiving his picture. He looked so happy. This same picture was displayed in an art show for Pocatello residents to view. Softball has been a fun way to have fun and work as a team with all of my new friends.Working together with my team at Pocatello High

Playing sports has always been my passion, I love everything about it. But one thing has always stood in my way; my size. I’ve never been the tallest person in a crowd and most of the time I am one of the shortest people in the room. I never imagined that this could hold me back from something that I love so much and could possibly make my dreams of playing collegiate softball unreachable. I first began playing softball at only five years old.…

The Oregon Ducks have been the greatest powerhouse and go to college school to beat for over the past five years. With a new offensive coach brought in during their 2007 season (Chip Kelly) Oregon's potent spread offense attack was an unstoppable force, and college teams had never seen anything like it. The Ducks would lead their conference (Pac-12) in scoring (38.15 points per game) (ESPN, 2011) and would also set several new school records for offensive yards and become the highest scoring team in their division. The project that choose to do was a softball field how I am going to make this project is by having the, Nucleus be in charge of the manger for the softball field and if the manager left then we would have nobody in charge because tectonically we don’t need a manger for that time period of the games because everyone would be doing there own thing at their field so we really don’t need a manager at the field. The Mitochondria will be in control of the lights so that when it gets dark the lights will go on and the team will be able to play there game under the lights and I know that it is always fun to play under the lights and there will be know why to let the Mitochondria leave because it is all hooked up to a bunch of things it would have to break all the things to leave. Why were black people segregated from baseball? Today many of the legends and greats we think of were African Americans, and it’s crazy to think they were excluded from the MLB just sixty years ago. They were segregated from anything you can think of at the time, and sports weren’t excluded. No matter if you were an Olympian athlete or a baseball all star chances are you’d end up with a dirty low pay job. So rather than give up the sport they loved and performed well at, they created the Negro Leagues.…

Growing up, I loved sports, watching, playing, and listening. It didn’t matter how or where, if there was a game on I was most likely watching it. As I grew even older I began to play the sports that I loved so much, football, basketball, and baseball. Being a three sport athlete my entire athletic career, I have seen the benefits that one sport brings to another. It also brings a certain level of sanity being a multi-sport athlete.…

Several people often misconceive softball as being an effortless, female dominated sport that requires little to no skill. Some say that softball is just a sport in which you hit the ball and run through bases trying not to get out. People who have never played softball, let alone any other sport, will say that softball is made easier for females. Before I began to play softball, I too speculated that softball was one of the most basic sports there was. Speaking from experience, softball is quite challenging and tiresome.…

Throughout this course I have gained more of an appreciation for artwork and the artists that create them. I have also gained an appreciation for the people that try to define what art is in general or more specifically what makes good art. We have read great thinkers and their philosophies on this, and the fact that even people of such great intelligence can disagree on the subject proves how challenging it can be. By reading the opinions of these great thinkers, and by discussing their thought with our class, I feel I am in a much better place as to define what makes good art myself. I define art as anything created by someone that inspires another to appreciation.…
