Art Analysis: Going To War

This particular photo resonates to me , you can feel the sadness of the parents who have to watch their Japanese -American son leave them to fight for the country. I feel like the artist who painted this picture was trying to show that most of these families knew that there was a possibility that they would never see their child again. It also shows that even though this young man may not want to fight in the war, but still decided to .This painting moves me in so many ways. In fact I think they would think that the painting was a mockery and that the Japanese-americans

The controversial nature of the Vietnam War is reflected in the overall design and in the creation process of the Vietnam memorial. The polarizing effects of the war left the United States divided and with no sense of closure. On one hand, one side desired a heroic and idealistic interpretation while the other side preferred to address the tragedy of the war. The legacy of the war left behind feelings of distrust, betrayal, and anger that led to contrasting memories of the war. Consequently, the Vietnam Memorial captures the dissent and fragmentation of the different types of memories.…

Happy Cinco de Mayo Denali, to be honest I saw that your writing has been amazing for the past weeks, this was the reason in my choosing of this assignment. I think that you have a certain elegance to your writing that is very interesting. Throughout this course I have gained more of an appreciation for artwork and the artists that create them. I have also gained an appreciation for the people that try to define what art is in general or more specifically what makes good art. We have read great thinkers and their philosophies on this, and the fact that even people of such great intelligence can disagree on the subject proves how challenging it can be. By reading the opinions of these great thinkers, and by discussing their thought with our class, I feel I am in a much better place as to define what makes good art myself. I define art as anything created by someone that inspires another to appreciation.…
