Well its because throughout this class and reading all of my journals throughout the week I have found really common theme. That is the theme of cause and effect. To illustrate just how literal and visual cause and effect can be I wrote a search research paper with the technical writing skills I 've learned this semester. However sometimes cause and effect isn 't such a huge matter or obvious. It happens every single day in our lives. Throughout this entire semester I have been submersed into a new found world of cause and effect involving technical research and writing. Throughout this semester we took on a writing project where we created four different documents of our choice. I chose to write about VT maple syrup, and the industry surrounding it. As I look at the situation more critically, and what I created with my writing now I see that I essentially examined the cause and effect that maple syrup has on Vermont. The good things and bad things it does for businesses, for people, and for our state as a whole. In one of my papers I wrote “Maple syrup is one of the healthiest natural sugars we can consume today. ORAC stands for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity. This is a test conducted to quantify the total antioxidant capacity of a food. Maple Syrup has an ORAC value of 600.” (Martin, Local Vermont Maple Syrup, Page 1.) In just this one short quote we can …show more content…
Just by our actions as humans we can have both very small, and also very large effects on the world around us. We as a nation need to be more aware of our actions that bring good and bad effects to the world. More importantly if we know some cause will create a negative effect we need to be sure to stop it. I love this quote about cause and effect on our world. “ I believe that every one of us are designed with a desire to fight for a cause of injustice. I believe we are ingrained with a desire to make an effective difference for a cause. This is the cause and effect of injustice.’(Loyer, page 1.). I believe that we can all make a difference in this world big or small, one of the most effective ways of making a difference is through writing and using words. Thats why this class has been so important to me it has given me another set of skills to make a difference in the world today. I will always be using my research and writing to try to make the state, country, and world that we live in today a better place for all
