Art 100 Class Analysis

Decent Essays
It was quite hard and also very long considering its a short term semester. I had always taken classes in person at IVC, so the first day of this course, I felt like the first day of class for a three-year-old girl, I had no idea what the subject was really about. And reading the class objectives about being able to identify those pictures. I had never been able to do so, only in this one Art 100 course. My favorite so far was Art in Egypt and the Middle East, Classical Art in Antiquity, and Classical Culture, were really beautiful subjects.

About the online thing itself, you really feel free. I can assure you that you learn much more, by that capacity that we the students have to learn by ourselves, no listening to lectures, but by just

Today I love the History of Art, I stay with the old, the classic, that culture from Prehistory, I also also think it's really CULTURE. In the future today, there are many exits, you can do many master's, teacher, archeology, museology, restoration ... Today every day I think a different thing, although every time I am more passionate Egypt, I would love to dig in Egypt if I were an archeologist , it would be incredible, but I would have to me more intelligent and dedicated to even pursue this career.

Anyway, I am delighted with the class, with the great amount of things you learn, with the culture that you take with you, because this course taught by our teacher is full of ancient arts mysteries. I also appreciate how organized our Professor Kelly is and how passionate she is about this course in order to teach it. She is also a fair grader, flexible, and answers emails very fast; very

Hello Prof. Shaw, I'm afraid that I'm having difficulties with Katherine Conway’s ENG 309 class, and I was hoping you could advise me. First, I received a poor grade on a paper recently that will certainly hurt my grade significantly and I was wondering what grade I needed to get in the class for it to count towards my creative writing and literature major? I'm afraid I may get a C. Second, when I met with Prof. Conway this past Friday to find out exactly why my grade was so low she spoke to me in a loud, harsh, and overbearing tone that, combined with her demeaning and accusatory language, crossed the line into emotional abuse. I was holding back tears minutes into our conversation; before I left she stated that she did not understand why I did not understand the prompt and that she could not give me a better grade until I figured it out. I barely made it out of her office before tears were rolling down my face and by the time I made it back to my room I was sobbing uncontrollably.…

Entering into unit two of the Math 1201 course, I find that the concepts in the reading crystallize in my mind after an average of two to three readings. Failing to employ proper use of fundamental mathematical concepts appears to be the major bane that deters my ability to comprehend the material any faster. For example, neglecting to execute operations in the proper sequence caused me initial problems when converting from the general quadratic form to the standard form, specifically completing the square. Furthermore, my neglect resulted in personal doubt in my ability to perform the operation as I would arrive at an answer different than the solution contained within the textbook. Realizing the error in my conversions was a result in my…

My visit to the Nelson-Atkins museum was unlike any of my other visits to museums. First of all, I had a solid purpose for going and found myself paying much more attention to the intricacies of pieces I was viewing. Secondly, due to its sheer size, this museum had a wide variety of art from many different cultures and time periods, giving each hallway and room a different feel. Lastly, I felt much more educated about what I was viewing, when compared to previous experiences. I waited until the 8th of July to drive to Kansas City and thus had read most of content that would be covered over the semester.…

Upon entering the RISD museum I was greeted by the quaint streets of the historic east-side of Providence. It's often an overlooked part of town due to the city life but really earns it's merit in beautifully restored colonial homes and colorful street art. The streets had tall green trees that bordered the sidewalk perfectly, and the light post were littered with local stickers either for a cause or promoting a local artist. Luckily, I was able to find parking rather easily because I went on an off day. With the car parked, I was ready to venture into the museum.…

What have you come to think about differently over the course of these few weeks? I am a Studio Art Major and throughout the semester I’ve learned many things. There are different ideas that people think “art” is and sometimes this can relate to a person’s background or their beliefs. My view in art has changed somewhat to a degree with learning about the different types of films that there are. I never thought movies could be a form of art.…

At the beginning of my final year of high school, a significant educational opportunity was introduced to me: a political science class was being offered at my high school by Merced College. I was very excited to find out about this course because of my plans to major in political science and eventually find a career in the politics. Of all possible subjects, I was very lucky to have this college course offered at my small school that otherwise would not offer opportunities like this. I had absolutely no doubts about taking the class. The course started on the night of the first day of school, and I was overwhelmed with the workload that was presented in the first class.…

Each teacher had a different style and I felt moved by some of their art. There were paintings of the marshes, and students that they had taught. I saw mixed media art with different art forms called “The Book of Life” which really spoke to me as it was very colorful and full of life. I found this really cool, because like most people my age, I think of art as a painting made by an old guy about one hundred years back, but all of these paintings were modern, yet still considered art. I felt relieved to find something I could relate to considered art by an art center.…

Museum/Gallery Paper I went and visited the Wichita Art Museum for this assignment. Going into this assignment I was apprehensive as it had been well over a decade since the last time I have ever been to a museum. From what i did recall I remember finding myself seeing pieces of art and not understanding how that is even considered art. I was, however, looking forward to seeing how my perspective had changed since becoming an adult and after reading the first several chapters of course now having a more of an understanding. I visited the second floor to view their Storytelling Collection.…

Communication is virtually done through emails or discussion board assignments; often times this can be a disadvantage to students who need a quick response from their instructor.
