The statements “The devil has the best lines or the most intelligent in fiction" seem to be the most controversial topic between people, because most devil characters in fiction lead story and prevail another characters. One of the fictions “Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?” discuss about rebellious behavior of young girl and other fiction “The Cask of Amontillado” show plan of man’s revenge. Both of fictions seem to have different style story, however, there are several similarities to the two stories in that they recount tales of horror. Even though both of plots have similar type of horrible story, they describe it in different way in terms of main characters style, motivation, emotion control and psychological horror.
"Montresor" and "Arnold Friend" are the most intelligent and charismatic characters in both of fictions. They seem to control other victim with their high ability. First, Montresor in "The Cask of Amontillado" is a skillful and vengeful person. These tendency lead to the horrible ending. In addition, through the

Montresor, very good planner, was not demon at first part of story, but through getting insulted from Fortunato, the revenge story start. While the story is unfolding, Montresor show great emotion control, however, when his plan for vengeance close to the ending story, Montresor showed emotion change such as physical violence. In contrast, Arnold Friend has no motivation such as revenge. Arnold Friend is perhaps stronger demon than Montresor in that showing great devil role without any purpose. While the story is unfolding, Arnold Friend never physically coerces to Connie, but through joke which make people scary, Arnold Friend press Connie. In addition, Arnold Friend maintains equanimity without any emotion change until end of
