On January 16, 2014, Officer Juventino Castro of Houston Police Department shot and killed a 26-year-old, unarmed, black male by the name of Jordan Baker who was riding his bike through a strip mall where Officer Castro was working an extra job through the Department’s “Extra Employment System.” Although Castro was not on duty, he was still expected to enforce all federal, state, and city laws at the strip mall with approval from the Houston Police Department. Jordan Baker, however, was not breaking any laws or engaged in any unlawful conduct. Officer Castro claims that he confronted Jordan Baker because he looked “suspicious,” but Castro’s basis for claiming that Baker looked “suspicious” was based on Baker’s race and the fact that he was wearing a hooded sweatshirt. Claimants stated that elected representatives neglected to redistrict the seats to take account of the extensive growth and redistribution of the states population therefore violated their votes. FACTS: Plaintiff Charles Baker (“Baker”) filed a suit that challenged the malapportionment of the State legislatures failure to proportionally redraw legislative voting districts. He argued that since 1901 the census had not been used to redraw congressional district lines and that representation of each district was unproportionable compared to the number of citizens residing in each district. Baker files suit against Secretary of State, stating his argument that rural votes counted more which denied him equal protection of the law. The State of Tennessee claimed redistricting is a political question and could not be decided by the courts under the Constitution. Baker appeals taking his case to the Supreme Court stating that the law violates…

While the population was increasing in the State of Tennessee, its political representative still stayed the same. For the first few days, he eats very little. Some days instead of a meal, he snacks over a period of a couple hours and consumes under 1,000 calories, not adequate for a 22o pound male who runs up to 5 miles several times per week. After a few days of this calorie restriction, David is starving and binges on pizza, bread and other “junk” foods. This may also be contributing to the sleep disturbances David experiences. Although he is likely starving from lack of food, this binge eating may stem in part from depression and lack of self-efficacy.…
