Failing a Test

The bell rang, Arnando had a test to take this morning and wasn't looking forward to it. He was worried that he wouldn’t get a very good grade as he had on previous tests. Either way Arnando had to take the test and soon forgot as he took it on a Friday and was distracted with other things. A few days later Arnando came back to school and he is reminded about the test when Mrs. Alexia announced she graded all the tests over the weekend. Arnando began to sweat a little and seemed to be worried about the current situation. Soon Arnando was handed his test, but the teacher didn’t say “Good job” when she had handed it to him. When Arnando flipped over his paper, he saw the lowest grade he has ever gotten, a 64%.

Throughout Arnando’s day he seemed down because of his low grade. He got out of school and this mood was still in effect, as a result Arnando’s mother was concerned and asked, “What’s wrong honey?” Arnando simply handed her his test and continued looking down at the ground. Arnando’s mother took the paper and looked at the grade, when she saw what grade Arnando had gotten and she seemed to be humiliated by his grade. She explained how she didn’t know what to do and said she was going to call Arnando’s father. She was grumpy and didn’t feel like waking up but, she had to begin cooking and cleaning the house before anyone got home. My mother began seasoning the chicken and preparing the rice.
