the modern US ARMY of the 21st century is the most technologically proficent and organized fighting force the world has ever seen. in terms of capabilitys the US ARMY has had to make many changes in the last 240 or so years in order to adapt to a world with increasing complexities. equipment has greatly advanced, soldiers have changed following different generations of socialization and terms and conditions of war have modernized to fit ideals of morality and culpability. although many things have changed with the modern army there is one thing that never will. crucial to any organized fighting force is the emphasis of individuals to maintain a standard of discipline to work efficently and successfully in larger group efforts. regardless …show more content…
without proper accountablity of equipment the aforemention equipment is prone to latencies of compormise. modern engagements have been won and lost due to the level of accountability put into equipment by soldiers at all echelons. that being said prior to modern engagements the importance of accountablity of equipment was still of upmost priority. emphasis on accountability of equipment and personal accountablity dates back to the first continental army. in the revolutionary war then barron von steubon was training the first continental troops his biggest area of concentration was the establishment of discipline and accountability in american soldiers. 338 as a order of consequence missing items can result in serious loss or failiure to sustain mission variables in a ever changing tactical environment. because of this the implications of personal accountablity are serious now if not more than than if ever before. luckily the current fighting force is still puting emphasis on personal accountability at all levels. from day one of basic training soldiers are expected to develop and retain a orderly discipline of military bearing with
