As stated in the Army Doctrine Publication (ADP) 6-0 (2012), “Communication is the means through which commanders exercise immediate personal control over their forces. Communication links information to decisions and then those decisions to actions. During the operations process, commanders will not make any decisions without first communicating effectively with their subordinates.
