Army Career Research Paper

I am the best choice for the VFMC Legislative Appointment because I am highly motivated to do great things within the military. In high school, I did not always outshine academically but being a great soldier is something I pride myself in and strive to be on a daily basis. The experiences I have gained over the past year while in the U.S. Army Reserves has given me knowledge and training that will help me excel at Valley Forge Military College and makes me the perfect student. Attending Valley Forge Military College will open many doors for the future and give me that extra competitive edge for pursuing greater opportunities like receiving an appointment to the United States Military Academy and in reaching my ultimate goal of becoming a career officer in the Army.

I found that the Army was the best fit for me because becoming an active duty officer is the best path for a successful career within the Army. Therefore, at the age of 17, I made the decision to join the U.S. Army Reserves as a motor transport operator with the 223rd transportation company by way of the split option program. The split option allowed me to complete Basic Combat Training over the summer before my senior year of high school where I excelled in training and gained vast knowledge. After graduation, I will continue my training by attending Advanced Individual Training at Ft. Leonard Wood this summer. Upon completing of AIT, I will then start the next phase towards reaching my goals as a student at Valley Forge Military College. The reserves has not only given me the ability to start my career early as well as the opportunity to serve our great nation but will also help me reach my goal of becoming an officer of the Army.
