Arms Race Vs Cold War

There must be a steadiness of power between countries in order to keep peace and stability in the world. Arms Race is when two or more countries come together to build their armies and weapons. The Arms Race was started because there was not any balance of power during the Cold War. At the time of the war, the United States was the only country that possessed weapons. The Soviet Union feared the United States domination of power and developed their own armies and weapons. Both countries attempted to gain the upper hand in terms of the number of armies and weapons that they possessed. The Arms Race ended after many settlements were passed. The United States and The Soviet Union were two countries that came together forming the Cold War and building Arms Race. The United States was afraid of communism in America when the Chinese Communists took over China’s government. In 1949, the Soviet Union dropped its first bomb. The United States and the Soviet Union were both responsible for the growth of Arms Race. Both The United States and the Soviet Union came together and believed that the armies and weapons would stop war.
