As I read over it more and more I realized your mission statement is different from many other departments. First being that your goals are realistic and very achievable, many departments goals are unrealistic like"end crime in this city". That would be great of course but not realistic. Arlington County goals are to reduce crime and improve the quality of life. Professional development is a respectable goal I would like to experience. Also somethings you cannot learn in a classroom no matter how many hours you take such as teamwork. As a leader at RSU I have worked with many teams, some good some bad but I would love to be apart of a great team. Also as a leader on a team we often have to resolve many conflicts I want to watch learn how professional resolve conflict as a team and in the work place. I also want to learn all there is to learn about homicide. I want this to be a very educational experience for me not just another internship. The last thing I would like to gain for this experience is to grow as a leader and use that experience to better my campus and better my life and the people influence. I truly believe that if we aren't growing or learning the we are moving backward not forward. I am really looking forward for the chance to be part of a great team that has end goals in mind and has core values that will test me and make me a better

One experience that shaped my character as a person was my part-time job in high school. I worked as tour guide in San Francisco’s Chinatown. Being a tour guide pushes a person to be open minded and curious about other people. I remember having a tour group from New York City, and we had a great conversation when we were comparing our respective Chinatowns. The conversation had me continuously think of questions and reply to their question with an answer to the best of my ability.…

In my college career which has been around 4 years now, these first two weeks are the first of any trimester or semester that instead of being enrolled in classes, I’m enrolled in an internship. This is definitely a change from the norm but at the same time it is exciting as well. It gives me the opportunity to use or observe some of the material that I have learned so far in my classes at Johnson & Wales in a real scenario. This internship allows me as well to gain much needed additional experience in the sports and athletics industry and will give me a more holistic view of the athletic program. It will allow me to see many different roles and see from various projects what parts of athletics I like or dislike since I am overall still open for the future to a variety of roles in the sports industry…
