This essay will discuss Arlene Dickinson; her ownership over Venture Communications and how she grown the company into Canada’s largest independent communications firms. Arlene Dickinson is known as Canada’s most renowned independent marketing communications entrepreneurs. Arlene joined Venture Communications as a partner in 1988, becoming sole owner of the company ten years later, and has grown the company into a strategic and creative powerhouse for a blue-chip client list. The company boasts an impressive list of clients, from Subway to Toyota to the Canadian Cancer Society. Throughout this essay we will discuss in more detail, Arlene Dickinson’s success in becoming one of the country’s leading entrepreneurs.

According to Arlene, it’s a combination of her believing the market is changing and the need for more entrepreneurialism to be injected in the business. The newly branded agency, “Venture”, which has dropped “Communications” from its name and created a new logo, will serve tree type of clients: businesses that are run by entrepreneurs, companies that want to sell to entrepreneurs and companies that want to be more entrepreneurial. The focus isn’t for start-ups, but rather established for small, medium and large businesses. (Harris, 2014) Arlene Dickinson believes that entrepreneurs drive a big piece of the economy and that there going to be increasingly important in the future. She believes entrepreneurs need marketing to help get them to the next level, marketing is the lever that can be pulled to really make a change and help create better business in Canada.
