Arl Hiaasen: A Brief Biography

arl Hiaasen is a renowned author known mostly for his bestselling adult novels. Born and raised in Plantation, Florida, Carl Hiaasen grew a passion for literature, specifically journalism, at a very young age. As a result, his father willingly gave him a typewriter. He spent most of his time either writing sports stories on his typewriter or frolicking in the boggy wetlands of the Everglades. However, Hiaasen became enraged after frequently watching the national park being demolished for new highways, shopping malls, and resorts year after year. Later, he attended Emory University, where he wrote satirical humor columns on the student newspaper. A year later he transferred to the University of Florida, where he graduated with a degree in journalism.
