The Behavioral Health Center provides Case Management, One-on-One and Family Counseling Services, One-on-One Therapy and Family Therapy. Clients may also participate in Art Therapy, Group Counseling, Domestic Violence, Anger Management, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Grief Counseling sessions that are also available. The behavioral health center has an outpatient Substance Abuse program which is called OASIS which has two locations in District 3 and District 5. There is a Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Center (RTC) is located in District 6 that houses both men and women. There is an extended program for transitional living after clients have completed their program at the residential substance abuse program. The Behavioral Health Center also has a Batters’ Intervention Program (BIP). Services at the behavioral health center are provided to both children and adults. My role at Gila River Health Center is that of an intern of integrated health care. I have been selected to participate in the Native Weaving Perspective Project, a program designed by Arizona State University’s Indian Affairs Department. I have been placed on the Gila River Reservation, where I have the opportunity to work with patients in the hospital setting in the Medical social worker’s Office as well as client in the behavioral health
