A panel of three are being asked questions by students of the university they are holding the event at. Will McAvoy is one of the panelist, he gives the audience and the rest of the panelist a speech in which he makes it clear that America is no longer the greatest country in the world. Will McAvoy responds to a question asked by a twenty-year-old student on why he thinks America is the greatest country in the world, at first, he jokingly responds “The New York Jets”. After trying to reinstate his boxing license Rocky finds himself being denied. Rocky then tells the boxing commissioner that he has rights and that he is pursuing what makes him happy. The commissioner responds, “But… we’re just looking out for your interests.” Rocky tells them that they are just looking out for their own interest and not his. He continues to express himself and at the very end tells the boxing commissioner and the board, “You know the older I get the more things I gotta leave behind, that life” “The only thing I’m asking you guys to leave on the table… is what’s right”. Rocky Balboa’s rhetorical strategy is to appeal to the boxing commissioner by using what Aristotle calls logos- doing the right thing.
