Arionta attended Bayside High School as a full time student for the majority of the last school year and was enrolled as an 11th grader. In the last three months, Arionta had five or more full-day unexcused absences. Arionta reported a desire to pursue a GED. Arionta’s school reports indicated he failed all classes he was enrolled in. Both he and his mother reported school is important and Ms. Blount wants Arionta to graduate with a diploma. Arionta's previous school performance has been poor. Arionta failed all the classes he was enrolled in at Bayside High School. He received several in-school suspensions. Arionta has received five out-of-school suspensions. These suspensions are for defiance. Arionta's educational placement appears to be appropriate for his academic advancement. Arionta's general attitude toward education is positive; he believes there is some benefit to his education and somewhat believes the school environment is encouraging and …show more content…
He recognizes that some problem behavior is controllable, but frequently fails to take responsibility. For example, he usually fails to identify triggers in his environment that cause his problems.

Regarding his social skills, Arionta can reason there is two sides to a situation, but can have trouble accepting other points of view. He has some difficulty in expressing his needs and feelings effectively. Arionta recognizes the need to plan, but may set unrealistic goals or fail to act on his plan.
Arionta has never been employed. He reported he was seeking employment prior to being detained. He is currently not involved in any structured or unstructured activities. Arionta is aware of hobbies that he would find interesting and exciting. He reported a desire to play basketball in the community. Arionta reported his long term goal was to be a merchant seaman. He reported he wants to obtain his GED and leave the
