Ariel Castro's Case Study

Ariel Castro did not stop there and in April of 2003, he spotted Amanda Berry, age 16. She was walking home from work when she encountered a vehicle in a driveway. She saw a man and his daughter in the van and thought she recognized the girl. A little while later, she noticed that the van had started to follow her down the street. That is when the man inside asked her if she needed a ride home. He was alone, but she replied with a yes anyway. Ariel Castro was the father of a classmate from middle school that she knew and when he asked if she would like to go see her, she agreed (Diaz, Pearle, and Valiente, 2015).
When they got to the house, Castro proceeded to tell Berry that his daughter was taking a bath. He proceeded to show her around the house, even showing her Michelle Knight’s room.
