I love how when you were discussing pretty woman that you pointed out that she would not only be treated so royally in reality, but would also be potentially abused by her client in some form. This alone does a great job of exemplifying the horrifying reality that many prostitutes face on a day to day basis. In many popular films that glamorize prostitution, the prostitutes are taken out to fancy restaurants and spoiled with expensive gifts; conversely, prostitutes in reality are often drugged, beaten, raped, and abused and often find themselves trapped in these situations because it may be their only viable chance of escaping the clutches of poverty.
