The belief about the food on floor has been passed down through generations and etched into our minds grounded on family values and always interwoven with scientific influence. It’s a proven fact that germs transfer from the floor to food quickly and further studies show it’s more about the cleanliness of the floor and it’s bacteria content than it is about how long the food sits on it. One of the most interesting finding from these studies; it appears that the floor material has more to do with the amount of bacteria compared to the time it takes to contaminate the food. For example materials like wood or tile are good breeding grounds for bacteria, compared to carpets, which decrease the percentage of bacteria transferred in thirty seconds or one minute.
