One reason is some people need their gun/guns to survive, this sounds weird, but some people are hunters and need to use a gun to hunt or are farmers and need a gun to shoot at or scare away coyotes. Also, if guns were all taken away hunting would most likely be banned. If this happened state parks and national parks would lose millions in funding because of the millions they usually receive from hunting permits, so in a way stopping hunting would hurt wildlife. Also, without a number one predator deer and other animals would flourish, this sounds good, but deer already kill 200 people in the U.S per year due to traffic accidents, which is more than any other animal. The thousands of traffic accidents they cause cost billions of dollars each year. There are 20 to 30 million deer right now and 12 million are born every year and if there were no more hunters within 5 years there would be around 100 million deer most likely causing around 3 times as many deaths and traffic accidents. Also, some people may be willing to give up their guns, but the vast majority will not and if people starting coming to gun owners houses it would likely cause a civil war, which would not be a good thing considering the side trying to get rid of guns wouldn’t have guns, so they would basically get slaughtered. A quote showing they won't give up their guns is “You can have my gun when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers” (Charlton …show more content…
