Arguments For The Legalization Of Marijuana

The“Marijuana” is an ancient plant which is known to have been used long before it was recorded by man as early as 6000 B.C, by the ancient Chinese when the seeds of the plant were used as food. It is believed that the word Marijuana came from the Portuguese word marigu-ana, which means "intoxicant”. And some believed that it was originated from Mexican Spanish, which means ‘To get high’ or ‘Prisoner’ (Martin booth, Wikipedia, 2014).
Marijuana is also known by other words such as “cannabis, weed, ganja, marihuana, and pot. Now days this plant is use as a drug by most people all over the world.
From the past few decades the question has been raised that “Should consumption and trade of Marijuana be legalized?”Because the consumption of the cannabis plant shows the different medical benefits.In a recent online debate people were asked about their opinion on legalization of Marijuana, and 80% of people voted “Yes”. The medical use of marijuana is not new, physicians in ancient period prescribed marijuana for psychological disorders, pain relief, digestive problems and many more.
