Arguments Against Transgender Bathrooms

One of the biggest issues right now in our society is this debate over transgender bathrooms. As long as our country has been around there have always been arguments over rights and equalities. Racial equality, women’s rights, same-sex marriage, religious freedom, and so many other debates and issues have torn our country apart and into uproar. The difference with this debate, is that this one debate over bathrooms is absolutely absurd and ridiculous. In my opinion the transgender bathroom debate is an unnecessary evil, in the sense that, to me, it has no real political merit and is just another reason for extreme conservatists to raise hell over nothing. First of all, in the Jim Crow era, bathrooms—along with water fountains and lunch counters—were places that might be marked with “white only” signs. Currently, there is no federal law that explicitly prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity. Most states also lack such statutes. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Department of Justice have found that discrimination against transgender people—including denying them bathroom access—is a form of sex discrimination covered under the Civil Rights Act. Simply making restrooms unisex or creating private family restrooms would easily resolve this issue, but why would we want to “discriminate” against anyone and single them out. There are sick and depraved people everywhere and there’s no getting away from that fact. This debate is a waste of taxpayers’ money and time because this is something that’s been happening with zero intolerance till now, and why? The ongoing oppression of different classes of Americans is just another way to keep separtists and bigoted minds
