A toxic gas used during WWI as a weapon. Nazi doctors had exposed 52 prisoners in the concentration-camp at Fort Ney close to Strasbourg, France to the phosgene gas. Phosgene would cause very intense irritation to the lungs. And with having prisoners who were already malnourished and weak this would kill them. It didn’t help that they got pulmonary edema after exposure to the gas because it would cause their lungs to swell and fill up with water in them making it very hard to breath.
These are only a few of the experiments that they did. There are some more experiments that the Nazis tested on the Jews. The reason why the jews were put through all of these horrible testings is so the German military knew what their bodies could handle with different climates, poison and wounds, and more. They also tested different kinds of gases on the jews to see what would happen to the body if exposed to it for a short amount of time and a long amount of time.
