Jay Archibald: standardized tests
Do you think there should be standardized tests taken in school? School officials are debating if there should still be standardized tests in the educational process across America. For years now, America has made a computer based test that students take in school on the subjects they are learning. They have used these tests to show achievements and our progress in education for the students and the teachers. We need to not give up on this process and decide to keep these standardized tests in our education. It has worked for us this far so don't change it now.

In the same article, “Top Test Scores from Shanghai Stun Educators,” it says, “K–12 Education, predicts that Chinese cities will top the PISA charts for the next several decades”. The standardized testing system is continuing to work for the chinese education and they aren't planning on stopping either. With the test costing a low price, this makes it possible for every school to be able to connect with the standardized testing system. With the price being low this can also cause uniform landscape and make every school in America the same so we can be united together. Caroline Hoxby of Stanford University stated, “The costs of tests are less than 0.1 percent of total spending on K-12 education and amount to an average of less than $6 per student.” Everyone would be able to participate in this standardized testing system because of the low costs for these test’s.
