It goes back as far as the systematic oppression of Jim Crow. So when yet another unarmed black man, Samuel DuBose, 43, is shot and killed at the hands of the now ex-University of Cincinnati police officer, Ray Tensing, who claims he feared for his life despite contradictory video evidence…” This shows that even though the jim crow act happened from 1877 to the mid 1960s our country hasn’t been able to become fully united and work together as one. Form 1877 which was the start of the jim crow act and now in 2017 we have been able to develope electric cars, fly cars and hoverboards. Given those stellar accomplishments why is it so hard to get rid of racial profiling. In a huffingtonpost article it shows that african americans are 2.6- 5 times as likely to get pulled over in various locations in connecticut, 2-5.2 times more likely to get pulled over in Illinois, 1.5-2.8 times more likely in North Carolina , and 2.5 times more likely in Rhode Island. This study proves to anyone who says racial profiling doesn't exist is wrong, because although in some places more than others blacks are more likely to get pulled over than a white
