Arguments Against President Trump

President Trump in an attempt to block refugees from gaining entry into the country signed an executive order to that effect. The ban temporarily bans immigrants from seven main Muslim countries for a period of three months. The nations in question are Iran, Iraq, Somalia, Sudan, Libya, and Yemen. This was in line with the promise he had made during his presidential campaigns on extreme vetting. The ban came as a surprise to many; something that saw confusion and chaos in the country. Officials from Homeland Security were not guided much on the manner in which the order would be enacted as those on the side of Trump certainly not ran the order at the Department of Justice by representatives. Individuals with valid visas, as well as holders …show more content…
A number of colleges and universities in the United States with large student populations and faculty members from abroad, especially those from the targeted countries, feared that they may have to choose between their professions or their families. Some students knowing that the executive order was just about to be signed flew back to the United States to get the opportunity to complete their degrees (Criss, 2017). Soon after the order was signed, they were left wondering if they will ever get the chance to be with their families if they remained trapped in the country. Some feel that their dreams are crushed because of the ban as they struggled to come into the country in the first place. Those in the business world and in particular the tech industry were as well taken back by the move from our new president. Tim Cook, Apple CEO, for instance, criticized the order and assured the affected workers that he would help them out. Unlike many, Cook acknowledges Apple’s existence to immigrants who have invested countless efforts in the company. Google, on the other hand, cautioned from any of the countries that are banned with visas or green card to cancel any plans they may have had for traveling. This is evident from the number of people around the globe that criticized the move by the president. Residents from New York, Atlanta, Dallas, and others across the country presented themselves at airports to protest against the order. Foreign leaders likewise condemned the ban. The Prime Ministers from the United Kingdom and Canada and German Chancellor were among the leaders who objected President Trump’s move (Criss, 2017). According to Gutierrez (2017), the Executive order will stimulate people around the world with the intention of harming America and is an act that strikes against the cores, values, and greatest strengths of the United States. He swears to fight with everything he has until the order is revoked. This was echoed by Sen. John McCain and Lindsey Graham who were of the opinion that the signing of the order would only assist ISIS and other terrorist groups to recruit even more

Shortly after the 2016 election, President Trump signed an executive order on January 27 suspending refugee admissions from seven countries for 90 days. These countries included Iran, Iraq (which was later removed momentarily), Syria, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. Immediately following the executive order, many district courts appealed the order for they felt it was unconstitutional. States have argued that the executive order has violated, The Immigration and Neutrality Acts and was motivated by a discriminatory animus (McCarthy). Not only has the order produced many appeals, it has also created a large amount of protests outside airports and major cities including the Capital (Newman).…

Recently, President Trump decided to repeal DACA or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival Program which was put into effect by former President Obama under an executive order. DACA resisted the deportation of illegal immigrants who entered the United States as children. President Trump justifies his decision because he believes that these “Dreamers” (term used for those under the protection of DACA) are a threat and burden on the United States economy. In addition, he states that the immigrants are taking all the jobs from the native-born American citizens. Moreover.…

The president might be trying to accept these citizens and give them an opportunity to make a better life for themselves, but working illegally in these low paying jobs wasn’t making a better life for these people and families. He is probably encouraging the illegal immigrants to do everything legally. The illegal immigrants should be treated like human beings and should be given an opportunity. Write about profits that the order brings to the United States such as it lets the government tax the people who used to work here illegally and now instead of having to get paid under the table the government can tax/charge them. They issue executive orders to help officers and agencies of the executive branch manage the operations within the government…

Although I did not immigrate to America like Choi’s parents, I agree that immigration should be open to all countries to give everyone an equal opportunity to prosper. America is known as the land of opportunity; to take away someone's opportunity because they are from a country where there terrorism exists is a disgrace. Not everyone from a country that has terrorism is a terrorist. Throughout my time working for the Equal Justice Initiative I have learned you can not judge people on their past without knowing their entire story. President Trump does not have the full story of everyone he has banned.…

Every year, hundreds of thousands of immigrants, both legal and illegals, from around the world, come into the United States. The factual problem is with illegal immigrants, who sneak across the border between Mexico and United States to enter the United States. The debate between pro-illegal-immigration and anti-illegal-immigration has been raging for decades. Many argued that there is an economic benefit aspect of illegal immigration. While others claim many problems with it, such as rising crime rates, overpopulation, and unemployment.…

President Obama is trying to push for the approval of allowing Syrian refugees into our country but due to the fear of national security there is a strong debate on whether or not the United States should allow the bill to be passed. The debate was a large focus as of November 22, 2015 and has remained in focus within the government since. As the debate progressed there were more people approving of the idea of permitting refugees into our country but there was still a strong side completely against the idea. Various misconceptions could be portrayed throughout this controversy, such as a positive outcome of rejecting refugees, lack of background check and willingly betraying values. President Obama has thought through a plan and has decided that he would like to allow 10,000 Syrian refugees into the United States but also enhance the screening process they have to undergo before officially entering into the country.…
