Studies have shown that the educational level of immigrants has been increasing (Chavez 74). The United States has diverse opportunities that not many other countries have. Having the privilege of being allowed to fulfilling these desires is something that people desire (messerli). If eligible for earned income or child tax credit, immigrants can take money from the government. Also, if they take a low paying job, which is common, it results in paying less tax (Messerli). But it has been proven that underprivileged immigrants under-consume welfare in comparison to poor Americans. Additionally, if the population of immigration or diversity is high, that does not affect or decrease welfare on the state level; furthermore, there is more of an increase in economic freedom.
Legal immigration should not be reduced, bearing in mind that in doings so, it will undeniably create more motivation to come into the country illegally.
