Arguments Against ISIS

Millions of people have died to the gruesome executions by the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant since 1999, isn’t it time to stop their reign of terror? There has been a perpetual argument since 2003 about whether the United States congress should dispatch thousands of American combat troops to stop these muslim extremists. Does anyone in our country want videos “featuring beheadings and burnings run against them?” (National Journal) On the other hand, does anyone want to gamble the deaths of thousands of fellow countrymen for an uncertainty of success? The issue of deploying troops in Iraq is a very debated problem and has two very strongly supported sides. For all the positive outcomes that may occur, however, deploying troops in Iraq may …show more content…
ISIS has already killed millions of innocent people who don’t want to convert to their religion, many of these people were Americans. Although there are many supporters of not sending American combat troops to Iraq, “public opposition to the use of combat troops against ISIS is softening.” (Opposing Viewpoints in Context) In a recent poll, supporters have said that eventually the government has to bring troops to Iraq, “just because we want to rid ourselves of the middle east legacy battles doesn’t mean we can shirk the ones that don’t emerge.” (Opposing Viewpoints in Context) Should the United States keep their troops at bay? No, the military's top officer General Martin Dempsey stated, he insisted on the using of ground troops to guide airstrikes, and was rejected. Dempsey told media that he would “recommend putting U.S troops on the ground in Iraq to advise Iraqi security forces” and military in their war against ISIL.(Opposing Viewpoints in Context) The recommendation was soon accepted by President Obama as “it is painfully obvious that there are too few American troops operating in Iraq.” Obama deployed hundreds of soldiers to advise the Iraqi Militant, under the restriction that they [American Troops] could not accompany the Iraqi troops on combat missions, as it put the lives of many American souls at

One more question that came to mind is;Why exactly are we giving the people who are trying to destroy the USA weapons that could harm us and or our allies? We are basically giving them the fire power to harm other countries like Paris. So after that incident we should stop sending them firearms. I mean how are we supposed to protect ourselves if we keep send them the fire power.…

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria is an extremist and radical militant group. They have violated many basic human rights and employed terrorist tactics. Because of the vast list of crimes that The Islamic State and Syria has committed, the only course of action possible is to take military action against them and remove them before they destroy more lives. The United Nations should give authorization to member states to take military action against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria immediately. The troops sent will be joined together to defeat the Islamic State and Syria.…

There are many opinions about whether or not the war in Iraq was successful. People want to know if America should have been there in the first place, should we have been sticking our nose where it may not belong? Or was the Middle East a threat that the U.S. couldn’t afford to ignore? Both of these opposing views hold true when comparing the failures and successes of the war, it’s fairly easy to argue both sides, however in my opinion, one side has a stronger argument than the other. Nevertheless, we still must compare and contrast in detail the most important failures and successes of the war, before one can come to any real justifiable conclusion.…

    The Iraq War Analysis

Although the United States made the decision to send troops back to Iraq to help the country and its soldiers, it is best that American troops be taken out of Iraq because they need to decrease their involvement in Iraq’s war, they have spent too much money on the war from 2003 to 2011 and helping Iraq to this day. Two of the bigger reasons why the United States needs to stop sending troops to Iraq are because terrorism in the US, both domestic and nondomestic, is rising dramatically. Not only has terrorism been more efficient in the US, but their national security has not been doing a well enough job to prevent terrorists from executing their…

If we take away their territory, they cease to be a caliphate, a tempting argument for the US to intervene in the situation. But, as Wood mentioned in his article ISIS wants the US to invade. That would bolster recruitment and radicalize Muslims worldwide, which is a strong argument against intervention. I strongly believe ISIS may become a victim of its own success. It’s only a matter of time before this mass of poor people with high expectations confronts economic deprivation, discontent, and a reduction in the number of believers immigrating to the…

The billions it costs to keep 100,000 American troops in South Korea and Japan, for example, make Asia more stable and thus better markets for U.S. goods.” As US troops are in the Middle East the United States has a security around the rich oil fields located in the Middle East. Some countries continue to spend billions even though there is no clear threat to their country. Countries say they are building weapons for defensive purposes but countries like America still send troops to foreign countries. Even though weapons sold to other countries may be used for bad purposes countries still believe that they still need to keep selling weapons.…

The people walking carefree through the city are armed with handguns. ISIS or any other invading force will face and fight us until our military can strategize a plan of attack. B. Sub-point B: We are not bystanders or victims. The likelihood of our military having to do much on American soil is not likely, we have already taken care of it. We don’t want our country to be a war zone, we want to keep our land beautiful, and not littered with battle scars.…

U.S. should wage war with isis because they recently killed 250 girls and many more innocent people all across the world. Also the United States should wage war with ISIS because they pose a threat to our nationś security. They have access to nuclear weapons, and they need to be stopped. Some people are arguing that ¨war isn 't always about creating something better. Sometimes it 's simply about ridding the world of terrorists who zealotry compels them to kill innocent¨. This statement is not accurate because if one side wants to be peaceful and other side wants full blown war there will be no agreement only more senseless killing of innocent people and their families.…

The United States should have never gone into Iraq back in 2003 and we would not have all the issues we do have in the world today. The United States should have not gone into Iraq because then we would not have the rise of ISIS in the Middle East and the worldwide refugee crisis that is going on today. In 2003, the United States invaded Iraq because they believed they had weapons of mass destruction and Saddam was committing war crimes against his own people. The US ended up learning that Iraq did never have any types of weapons of mass destruction and they still fueled the civil war that caused the fall of Saddam, which caused for an extremely weak government.…

I feel that America should be involved in the fight against Isis because they have planned and gone through attacks on the United States. There have been several cases where the Group that Calls them self “Isis” has planned many attacks against the allies of the United States or on U.S soil its self. So that’s what’s makes me feel that the United States should do something. ISIS Pros And Cons

ISIS is a large group of people who want to end the world and kill everyone that gets in their way. Recently, my class had a debate with pros and cons sides about this topic. The pros side wants to go to war with ISIS, and the cons side wants to negotiate and make an agreement with these people. I am siding with the cons side because many things could go wrong if we go to war, such as, getting ISIS closer to their main goal, and it will kill many more lives from both ISIS and America. If we try to solve this problem in a nonviolent manner, it could make things better.…
