Arguments Against Gun Control

Around 16,459 people were murdered in 2016, and roughly 73% were killed using a firearm of some kind. If there were stricter laws around firearms (noun) it is likely that most of these deaths could have been prevented. However there are many arguments against these beliefs from needing a firearm for self defense and hunting, or saying that innocent people should not be punished for the actions of others, and even if gun laws change it is only going to affect law abiding citizens. It is imperative that we as people(noun) do something about gun control. For the most part people who own guns are going to say that they have it for self defense or hunting, but do they really need a machine gun or semi automatic gun for that. First of all using one of those weapons for self defense is a little ridiculous because …show more content…
That seems like a long list of things but it is pretty simple, what who and how is a firearm being sold. Just think about this anyone at anytime can go to either a private property seller, a gun show, or other venues and get a firearm without even having to go through any background checks or anything for that matter. Sellers like this are basically just fuelling the fire giving an easy axcess point for people to commit crimes using a firearm. There basically possibly without even knowing giving criminals maybe everyday a weapon they can use to take a life, but for the normal law abiding citizen if you really do follow the law none of these changes should really effect you besides in the sense of being able to buy a military style

    Essay On Mass Shooting

Following recent events (involving multiple mass shootings and attacks) many people think that the laws on guns in the United States of America need to be much tighter. I am one of these people. At the moment, as soon as you cross the US border, you have the legal right to purchase yourself a fire arm for personal protection, sport and (apparently, in some unfortunate cases) carrying out an unreasoned mass shooting. This document serves to explain some of the holes in the American legal system. While my foremost problem is not with guns themselves, it is a fact that they are, in the first place, an inherent danger and owning them, in the first instance, causes more trouble than they’re worth.…

In the United States in more recent years there has been a lot of debate on gun control due to events like the most recent school shooting. Both sides, Democratic and Republican, have argued for and against two very radical solutions: increasing gun control to the point of taking away guns from everyone that is not military or police, and arming teachers across the country. While both of these solutions have their benefits and flaws, one very important aspect of the active shooter epidemic seems to be overlooked, and that is the mental state of these people that will eventually turn into active shooters. When looking at the mentality of these people, there are two parts of the issue that are rarely addressed when trying to find a solution,…

Guns are powerful. Not only in how much damage they can do to you with just one bullet fired, but even the presence of a gun can send any man, saint or criminal, running. Guns can be used as a form of offense and defence. They can protect our society, more than they damage it. Although some believe that gun control should further restrict the selling of firearms, they actually shouldn’t because they can be used as a form of defence, and citizens have the right, stated in the second amendment, to keep and bear arms.…

While I do believe it is the right of any person to own a gun, I do not think it is necessary for someone to own military-grade weaponry. I think a small hand gun is more than effective in deterring any home intruder. Free expression is good, as long as there are some limits. Concerning this issue, I think the liberal way of thinking on this issue is great, if the expression can be done in a way that does not seek to alienate or mock. Also, I do believe that people are improvable.…

There are many significant issues in American politics today but none is more important to me than the debates regarding gun control. There is intense discussions from both those in favor of gun control and those opposed to it. I, admittedly, find myself sometimes sympathizing with those on both sides of the debate. Regardless which side you find yourself on there is no question that guns are extremely powerful and dangerous things which demand our attention and respect. Although I do not currently own a gun I am sure there will come a day in which I will want or need to.…

In the course of recent years, Americans' support for rigid gun control laws has been declining even as the number of mass shootings is on the ascent. Gun control is a standout amongst the most forcefully divisive issues in the U.S. today. Envision appreciating a film at the theater or eating a dinner at Taco Bell while individuals surrounding you are conveying stacked arms. In spite of the fact that this may appear to be inconceivable, it is conceivable in light of the fact that the second amendment of the United States Constitution gives residents the privilege to have and convey weapons.…

Gun control remains to be one of the most popular debates along with abortion, animal testing, and climate change. What makes gun control so controversial? Well, many people have different views on the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which reads as “A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” Advocates for gun control believe this applies only to police and military, but will gun control actually help reduce crime. I chose to believe that stricter gun laws will not be of help, since countries and states who already have done so have seen little to no difference in crime, criminals will not be affected and still get their hands on…

On the other hand, responsible gun laws do not infringe on the constitution and do not disarm those good citizens. Blek writes, “We must challenge and move beyond the mistaken belief that creating responsible gun laws in some manner offends our constitutional rights.” Guns have become too easily available and should not be allowed to those with mental illnesses or those with ill intentions such as criminals. However, America cannot allow itself to become disarmed and without protection, infringing upon the individual right, but must enact responsible gun laws for the good of the country and its future.…

“To conquer a nation, first disarm its citizens”- Adolf Hitler 1933 is what one of the worst guys in history had said, and this is what people in modern times want to do in the u.s. The main reason for the second amendment is for the right of protection with a firearm whether its towards a tyrannical government or if it’s towards a home intruder we should always have the right to protect ourselves. A mass shooting shouldn’t affect our right to defend ourselves. Guns were used in many shootings, mainly Handguns as Handguns are the number one weapon used in shootings/homicides across the us coming in at around 75% of homicides.…

The Second Amendment states, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” This law was made 225 years ago, and people have taken advantage of it ever since. Why do we, the people, need to have high powered guns? We don’t need high powered guns to protect ourselves from a burglar; we would only need something as little as a hand gun. In my opinion, they should only be used by the military and soldiers who need it in battle.…

Something that sets America apart from other nations but with recent deadly shootings it may be more of a curse than a flag of freedom. Gun Control Gun control is an attempt to cease violent crimes by strengthening laws on the ownership of firearms. Many people own guns for the security of their home, for use in hunting or target shooting, or for other reasons. Gun Control laws are aimed to reduce the criminal use of guns as much as possible and to intrude as little as possible with other gun use. Americans have had a long debate about federal regulation of firearms. Devotees of the ordinance also argue that without federal laws, declares with some firearms limitation will provide guns illegally to states with stiffer restrictions.…

In recent years, a lot of debate had been going on about the laws pertaining to firearms. Unfortunately, with all of the mass shootings and killings being reported by the media, guns are given a bad reputation. Sadly, many people believe that they should be illegal because they are dangerous and can kill people, but what these people don’t realize is making them illegal will do a lot more harm than good. Guns have created a balance in society and if we were to take them away it could cause a lot of chaos which would result in more crime and more casualties. People deserve the right to bear arms because with proper training one could possibly save his/her life and also protect others.…
