“To conquer a nation, first disarm its citizens”- Adolf Hitler 1933 is what one of the worst guys in history had said, and this is what people in modern times want to do in the u.s. The main reason for the second amendment is for the right of protection with a firearm whether its towards a tyrannical government or if it’s towards a home intruder we should always have the right to protect ourselves. A mass shooting shouldn’t affect our right to defend ourselves.
Guns were used in many shootings, mainly Handguns as Handguns are the number one weapon used in shootings/homicides across the us coming in at around 75% of homicides. The gun control movement is mainly focusing on rifles such as the AR-15.
Again if you look at the statistics you can see that gun sales spike after most mass shootings happen as people want to have a way to defend themselves from possible shooters like the Vegas shooter. If the school officer wasn’t there than Austin could of gone through his plan and killed a lot or even more than the Columbine/Parkland, showing that guns could really help in those situations.
