Arguments Against Gun Control

In the realm of the political spectrum, there are certain issues which hold more weight than others. For instance, the issue of individual responsibility. I believe that each person can decide his or her own fate, and that their circumstances do not define them. Furthermore, just because you are from a poor home with unsatisfactory conditions does not mean that you immediately have no opportunity to become something that your parents never were, as it is up to the individual to decide their own fate. They can choose to let it bring them down, or they can rise above the expectations. Secondly, the idea of personal ownership of guns. The 2nd Amendment clearly states that each person has the right to bear arms. How can someone say that freedom is not allowed. It is absurd in my opinion. My personal definition of a human being is someone with a beating heart, and that includes if that beating heart is living within a mother. While I do believe it is the right of any person to own a gun, I do not think it is necessary for someone to own military-grade weaponry. I think a small hand gun is more than effective in deterring any home intruder. Free expression is good, as long as there are some limits. Concerning this issue, I think the liberal way of thinking on this issue is great, if the expression can be done in a way that does not seek to alienate or mock. Also, I do believe that people are improvable. For example, people in prison are continually finding Christ during their sentences.
