Thanks for responding to my post. You brought up an interesting point, why are we as healthcare workers mandated by most hospitals to receive the flu vaccine or be punished by wearing the dreaded mask. As a RN, I receive the annual flu vaccine through my facility, but neglect to vaccinate my teenaged daughter. My husband too has not received the vaccine in several years. I have worked with several nurses that have opted out of flu vaccinations for health reasons (allergic reactions, poor overall health, etc.) or "just because". Wearing the mask for months is uncomfortable and cumbersome, causing some to question whether or not it is truly worth it.
