For example, Conservatives are concerned about defense spending being drastically cut, but half of it is being financed by other countries such as China and Saudi Arabia that it is detrimental to us because how much the US depends on them (Calabresi, 2013, para. 23). In addition, a few men, Arthur Brooks, Ed Feulner, and Bill Kristol agree that shrinking anything of the government will make world more dangerous also they don’t think that military spending is the source of financial griefs. Of course, it’s not the only source, but it’s a big factor concerning the budget, but they argue that for America to make money it has to spend money. Also with their views on the Iraq war, they mention that “global prosperity requires commerce and trade, and this requires peace.” (Wilkinson, 2013, para. 6) but Wilkinson made an excellent point that how is starting costly wars going to maintain …show more content…
