Penalizing someone for their reasoning and belief isn’t right, but who strips us of these rights? The government they control everything that occurs in the country, they can censor anything just based on one person’s thought. If the government becomes too powerful and begins limiting rights then the population starts to live in fear. The people who oppose the government’s ideas are criticized and put down; this causes the opposition to seize
People in our society today argue and disagree with anyone’s actions and thoughts, and this based on one belief “you’re wrong and I’m right”. The person who’s supposedly wrong, most of the time is bluntly correct. This is why the people with the correct way of thought are terrified to step up and prove to others that they’re right. It’s near impossible to change the mind of a mistaken person. They will keep arguing until they get what they want. When Harry S. Truman refers to the government I think he is talking about the people of the country. For example, the U.S is governed by the people; they make the choices. The federal government just had to agree or disagree to pass a law. The people who want to express their inner thoughts are afraid. They know that they can get fired, punished or even worse. In countries that provide the people with a great deal of freedom, problems begin to turn up. The population starts to live in fear.
