Should Stricter Laws Be Placed on Animal Hunting? It is very common for many people to hunt animals as a “sport” but hunting is not a sport in any sense, it is murder. There should be stricter laws placed on killing animals and selling their parts. In the past, people hunted for survival and for food. However, that is not the case now. People shouldn’t be allowed to hunt because it is inhumane. Hunters are killing endangered species to trade their fur and ivory, not for food or survival. There needs to be more awareness and action taking place. All animals have rights and this issue needs to be taken more seriously and effectively. As I was researching hunting and animal cruelty,

Chris Fitch believes that hunting does not control the population of animals and that it is wrong indefinitely. He uses Will Travers, President and CEO of the Born Free Foundation to support his claims. Travers states that there are less than 20,000 wild lions across Africa. Whereas, “In 1900, there were as many as one million lions across Africa” (Fitch, 3). Fitch talks against trophy hunting and discusses how it is an issue. He states, “While trophy hunting is considered an important management tool for conserving wild land, providing financial resources for lion conservation for both governments and local communities, it is also potentially a threat…depending on how it is regulated and managed” (Fitch, 4). Fitch gives many arguments to support his claim that everyone needs to take action against animal hunting. He discusses trade in lion parts and habitat loss. Fitch says, “As we see lion population’s decline, so we see trade in lion parts and derivatives, legal and illegal, going up significantly” (Fitch, 5). This shows that selling animal parts is increasing with the killing of these …show more content…
If we don’t start doing something about this issue now, who knows how much worse it will get. This is a serious problem that people have overlooked and not thought about enough. Stricter laws and permits need to be placed on hunting animals if we want to resolve this issue once and for all. I, personally, am a huge animal lover and it upsets me that we have let this get out of control. I think laws should be made and protests she be put in to action to resolve it. Animals are living creatures that do not deserve to be treated any less than human

You have two sides behind this the side that is for and the side against it. The side that is for the killing of animals for sport will argue that our ancestors did it so we should be able to. A famous case of Walter Palmer, he led a lion from a protected sanctuary, into legal shooting ground. He was attacked by many people saying that his acts were immoral and wrong but he insisted it wasn’t. The groups that are against killing animals for sport will claim that he acted moral wrong on killing that lion, and others act morally wrong to.…

Alessandra Potenza, a writer for New York Times Upfront magazine, sheds light onto the seriousness of Poachers. Poachers, also known as “Trophy Hunters”, are causing the endangered species problem to become worse, specifically African wildlife. Every year 600 lions are killed by Trophy Hunters (column in the middle of pg. 11). An example of this happening is with Cecil (a lion, also a popular tourist attraction) didn’t attack the Trophy Hunters when they shot him with a crossbow but instead ran away; the Trophy Hunters tracked him down and killed 2 days later. (Paragraph 1 and 2, pg. 10)…

The wolf hunting and trapping season should be outlawed because other animals are being injured in the process. These days’ trappers have been catching a lot more than wolves. Some among the list include mountain lions, eagles, fishers, deer and even family pets. In January, a National Park Service employee accidentally stepped into one, just outside Glacier National Park. The next month, a dog got three of its legs caught in two different traps at once.…

Recently, the white house put forth a proposal to allow trophy hunters to bring the trophies of their kills (namely elephants) back to America. Animal lovers have since been upset at the mere thought of allowing this to become legal and participation in trophy hunting in general, but few ask why this is negative. Multiple people who are against trophy hunting do not conduct research on the topic or refuse to listen to counter arguments and just see this as a negative thing with no benefits to animals. Despite common conception, legal trophy hunting has helped saved species, persevered land from development and is the majority source of wild life conservation funding in these countries. I also feel the need to point out that trophy hunting and…

Some hunter’s argue that hunting is an essential role in their happiness, and life would be miserable without it. If killing living, breathing innocent creatures provides you with happiness you should rethink life and experience different ways to experience joy. Another argument supporting hunting is that it keeps down the number of overpopulated animals. Hunting is an effective solution however we must keep in mind of what the most humane solution would be. Farmers often kill animals to prevent them from consuming their crops.…

Animal Rights are rights believed to be owed to animals in order for them to live full lives, free from suffering. Animals are currently being used, and in some cases abused, in medical research, clothing industries, hunting for sport, food, and population control, and countless other services to humans. As is the case with all ethical issues, there are two defined perspectives and supporters of the current and future treatment given and due to animals.…

Many species in the world are endangered and eventually becoming extinct. The main problem that generates extinction is human activity; people cause extinction every day and unknowingly to them, it is killing innocent animals. Due to pollution, natural forces, human interaction, and loss of habitats, animal extinction is a major crisis in the world; people are the only ones that can save the animal population before it is too late. Pollution is among the most insidious threats to animal extinction. It can be as obvious as sewage and oil spills in water or as invisible as chemicals used every day.…
